Located in the 14th district in the Montsouris district (Southern of Paris), the Montsouris Park is a large public park. It was built towards the end of the 19th century in an English style.
It is in Napoleon III years that the Baron Haussmann gave the realization of this park to the engineer Alphand in the year 1860.
In this garden it is possible to find many varieties of vegetable species and species of birds. It is a very calm place where it is good to seat in grass.
In the 19th century Alphand had many technical problems, because at this place of Paris (the Mount-Souris) there are lot of old careers unused and entries to the catacombs.
The park is bordered by the street Gazan, the Reille avenue, the Jourdan boulevard and the street Nansouty. Who count each entry.
Nears the entry of the Montsouris Park in Jourdan boulevard there is the RER station `Cité Universitaire' and the stop of the new Tramway of the Southern boulevards of Paris. Opposite there is the Cité Internationale Universitaire of Paris.
