The ramparts, the town walls are in perfect condition, constructed by the Duc de Meilleraye from 1649 to 1653. Classified as an Historic Monument.

Grande Poudrière storage of gunpowder for the shore batteries and sea born guns, constructed from 1750 to 1752.

The Papegaut, bastion dating from 1649 - 1653 consisting of two earth covered chambers.

Chapel of Saint-Pierre, constructed in 1553, burned down and then reconstructed in 1859.

This port at the mouth of the river Blavet has had an unusual history thanks to the kings of France who made it a harbour of major importance in the 17th century and to Queen Amélie who brought it fame as a seaside resort in the 19th century.
