The Holy Mount Michel (Mont Saint-Michel in franch) is a french town, located in the department of [Manche, in french] and the Basse-Normandie region. It draws its name from a rock small island dedicated to Saint Michel and where rises today celebrates it and majestic abbey of the Holy Mount Michel.
The extraordinary architecture of the Holy Mount Michel and its bay make of it the place of interest more attended of Normandy and the third of France (after the Eiffel tower and the castle of Versailles) with some 3.200.000 visitors each year.
A statue of Michel saint placed at the top of the abbey church culminates with 170 meters above the shore. Classified historic building in 1874, the site appears since 1979 on the list of the world inheritance of UNESCO.
