The avenue des champs Elysées is a large and famous avenue of the town of Paris. It is regarded as the most beautiful avenue of Paris, and according to some, the most beautiful avenue of the world.

The Champs Elysées are located in the 8th district of Paris. They start in the place de la Concorde, where the Obelisk is drawn up, and extend on 2 km, of is in west, until the place Charles de Gaulles, in the center of which the Arc de Triomphe. Its rectilinear layout offers a long prospect born for the museum of the Louvre, in which align the equestrian statue of Louis XIV in the court Napoleon of Louvre, the Triumphal arch of the Carrousel, the garden of Tuileries, the Obelisk de la Concorde, l'arc de Triomphe, and further in the west, in-outside Paris, the Arche de la Defense.

It is one of the principal tourist places of Paris. In its lower part, the avenue is bordered of parks Marigny public garden and of some constructions theatre Marigny, Petit Palais, Grand Palais and its Palais de la Découverte. In his higher part, one finds many shops of luxury, places of spectacle of the cinemas, in particular the UGC Normandy, George V and Triumph; the Lido, famous coffees and restaurants Fouquet' S…

The Champs Elysées are the place great French historical events: procession of the Release in 1944 or gathering of Parisian to celebrate the victory at the time of the world cup of football in 1998.

Each year, at the time of the national festival on July 14, the principal military procession of France, terrestrial and air, takes place with the Champs Elysées.

Each year, at the evening of December 31, the Fields-Élysées become pedestrians to celebrate the new year. Be carreful, many problems of safety are announced.
