The city has a great number of old typical constructions of Alsatian architecture (half-timbered houses) and German Renaissance like several churches of Gothic (church of Dominican, church saint Matthieu, collegial Saint Martin - called #cathedral#).
In Colmar is also, in the old convent of Dominican (XIIIe century), the museum of Unterlinden which shelters in particular one of the treasures of the Western religious art: the retable of Issenheim de Matthias Grünewald.
Visits to circumvent of the city: the Museum of Unterlinden and the Bartholdi Museum, the Pfister House, Koïfhus (Old Customs), Collegial the Saint Martin, the district of the Tanners and the very picturesque district of Small Venice with its constructions at the edge of water.
The city can be visited in the small tourist train, the boats on Lauch (the river) or the barouche.
