Grenoble is classified town of art and history.
Remarkable monuments and places:
* the Bastille, the fort du Rabot, the cable car, the quarter Saint laurent and quays;
* the old city with its places : Grenette, aux herbes and Saint-Andre with the old palate and the statue of the knight Bayard, the cathedral Notre-Dame, the lanes pedestrians;
* downtown area with the Victor-Hugo place, the place of Verdun and the buildings which frame it (prefecture, old university, old library, etc), streets and buildings of the XIXe century;
* the park Paul Mistral with the Perret Tower.
Most spectacular is the sight on the solid mountains of Belledonne, Vercors and Chartreuses.
